Our Story: It Started with the Soil
Everything is cyclical. For us, the HowToGro journey began not just with a seed, but with the soil itself. It started with a simple mission: to grow our own food. We wanted the freshest, tastiest, and healthiest fruits and vegetables for our family, and we learned that begins with building healthy, living soil.
What started in our backyard has grown into a full-circle passion for restoring the health of our planet from the ground up. We rediscovered the profound power of getting our hands in the dirt, of feeling the earth beneath our feet a practice known as grounding. This simple act restores our natural electrical balance and reminds us that we are intrinsically connected to the planet.
As a society, we’ve been losing that connection, but the bond is within all of us. The deeper we look, the more we see that everything is connected the teeming microbial life in the soil, the water, the plants, and the air. To have fresh, clean air, we need healthy soil and clean water to nourish the plants that produce it. This realization is the seed from which HowToGro sprouted.
Our Mission: An Eco Warrior’s Guide to the Galaxy
🌎 HowToGro is a project to guide fellow eco warriors in their mission to make the planet a better place for generations to come.
Our project is guided by three primary directives:
- Share Useful Knowledge: We are dedicated to sharing knowledge that helps anyone grow a better lifestyle. This started with our “GRO Guide,” a collection of the best growing practices, and has expanded to include principles of regenerative agriculture that heal the land while we grow.
- Ensure Food Security for ALL: We believe in empowering communities through decentralized solutions, like local seed banks and learning centers, to ensure everyone has access to healthy food grown in healthy soil.
- Make Earth the Healthiest Planet Possible: Our mission is to help create the healthiest Earth for future generations by rebuilding our ecosystems from the soil up and restoring our place within them.
Our Vision: High Tech Solutions, Deep Rooted Wisdom
We have to not only grow more but also waste nothing. This doesn’t mean giving up our modern creature comforts. It means pairing deep rooted wisdom like regenerative farming with responsible ecological technology.
We can drastically reduce our reliance on depleting natural resources by embracing innovative solutions that mimic natural cycles. Imagine producing natural gas to run your stove by turning food scraps into fuel with a biodigester, then using the nutrient rich byproduct to feed your garden soil. It’s a closed loop system, just like in nature.
This is the future we envision: one where technology works in harmony with the planet, not against it. By putting these ideas into practice, we can reconnect with our ecosystem and drastically improve the lives of everyone on the planet. Together, we can regenerate our world from the ground up, one conscious choice at a time.
